Shennong….
not just the origin story of tea
it’s like my love of herbs
and all that they implore me to be.
Never ignores me,
they find me like some….Divine Farmer
The blind ones look behind me like some….they’ll find Karma.
But the bums will keep igniting this flame,
I’m from the south
And this light will take your sight
it’s like there’s
gold in my mouth.
Encountered poisons on this journey
Seventy to be
exact….
Red is poison,
White is cold,
Black is deadly,
Green is fact.
Tasted bitterness or sweetness
sip from springs like it’s rain
and whip the plant to get its colors
It’s revealing her name.
The leaves travel
through my body,
as I watch them
the drift….
back and forth,
up and down,
with this movement so swift.
But never settles….
We’ll never know
Am I just a myth?
who’s trying to understand
this world without
destroying its gift.
Therefore I’ll die
the way I lived
Taste what I can’t survive….
and rest surrounded by these plants,
deep in the mountains I thrive.
The movements still alive
every time someone lifts a cup
I tasted poison
so the others wouldn’t have to give up.
